Genova Summer School of Political Economy
First edition
3th-7th June 2019
Department of Economics
Aula Fieschi
Via Vivaldi 5, 16126 Genova
Description
The Genova Summer School of Political Economy is open to PhD students and scholars of economic, political and social disciplines.
It has two fundamental objectives. First, it aims to provide an illustration of the basic theoretical schemes of Political Economy. Professor James Snyder from Harvard University will provide morning lectures on these issues. Particular emphasis will be given to the voting and bargaining models as well as to the developments of the models of Meltzer and Richard and of Grossman and Helpman.
The second objective of the course is to show how Political Economy theoretical schemes can be used to explain socio-economic facts that do not find satisfactory explanations within the traditional economic approach. To this aim, afternoon sessions will be devoted to the presentation and discussion of invited and selected applied contributions.
The course is English taught.
Lectures (see) will be held by Prof. James Snyder, Harvard University - USA
