Career Guidance and Placement

The Department of Economics and Business supports students and graduates of its study programs in their transition to the labor market through a wide range of structured activities.

Many courses include in-class talks delivered by qualified representatives from the business and professional world. The Department also organizes seminars led by prominent entrepreneurs, focusing on entrepreneurship and related topics.

Throughout their studies, alongside curricular internships, students and recent graduates have the opportunity to participate in events organized in collaboration with numerous local and national companies, where they can meet potential employers and present their CVs.

Each degree program has its own Advisory Board, with prestigious representatives from companies and institutions, working with the Department to connect academic training with professional opportunities.

The Career Day, organized by the Department of Economics, offers students, graduating students, and graduates the opportunity to explore professional opportunities, including internships, traineeships, and job positions, and to establish direct contact with companies. The continuity of the event, held every year in May, also helps foster a greater awareness of labour market dynamics and of the strategies useful for approaching them effectively.

Thanks to agreements with the Orders of Chartered Accountants and Accounting Experts of the Ligurian provinces, the curriculum of some degree programs allows for a facilitated access to the professional register.
Through agreements with the Provincial Orders of Labor Consultants in Liguria, certain programs also allow students to anticipate one semester of professional internship required to access the profession of Labor Consultant.

The Economics Internship Office stage@economia.unige.it (part of UniGe’s Career Service and Orientation Office) assists graduates in identifying the most suitable post-graduate internships, helping them in their initial contacts with host institutions.

Extracurricular training and orientation internships are practical learning experiences carried out by graduates of the Department’s programs in companies, institutions, and professional firms. They provide specific job training directly linked to the knowledge acquired during the degree program, followed by careful evaluation and observation with a view to possible placement.

The Economics Internship Office regularly forwards to DIEC graduates job and internship offers from companies and institutions interested in reaching a wide and qualified pool of candidates.
