Located within the Department of Economics, the Archivio Doria is dedicated to preserving and promoting modern and contemporary economic history, with a special focus on Liguria. The Centre houses one of the most significant private archives open to the public, offering unique resources for research, teaching and cultural engagement.
Its collections include seven major archival fonds, featuring documents from prominent Genoese noble families (15th–20th centuries), business archives, family papers and records from the historic Genoa School of Commerce (1886), later the Faculty of Economics.
The Centre not only safeguards historical memory but also supports academic and public initiatives: research projects, seminars, conferences and collaborations with institutions sharing similar goals.
Through its “Quaderni” series, the Centre publishes inventories and studies that enhance the value of its documentary heritage.
As the majority of the documents are in Italian, a good knowledge of the language is strongly recommended for consultation.
